Dear SAA Pool Members,
We are very excited to open this weekend, Friday, June 5th, for the 2020 season. We want to thank you again for your patience and thoughtfulness as the pool board, have navigated opening under the COVID-19 provisions. As we open the pool we ask for your courtesy, flexibility, and kindness as we abide by state and county health regulations. The following information is long and in-depth, yet very important for the safety and well-being of our lifeguards and members. This is uncharted territory and we need your help by practicing safe social distancing procedures. Please take the time to read all of the following information.
During the open hours of the pool we can allow 50 people in our facility. This 50-person max includes lifeguards working, swimmers, and non-swimmers on the pool grounds. At this time we will monitor our flow of member traffic, if needed the SAA board may institute a sign up method with swim times.
The SAA staff will adhere to regulations including:
To adequately describe each of our efforts please see the sections below.
Cleaning high traffic areas:
SAA staff will be disinfecting and sanitizing bathroom facilities every hour.
Staff members are also sanitizing handles and surfaces within the shack.
Sanitizer will be provided to members to wipe off lawn furniture before and after use as necessary.
Mid Day Pool Closure:
To ensure the pool chemicals are at the required standard for patron safety, we will ask all members to leave the pool facility for 30 minutes from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. During this time lifeguards will check pool chemicals and maintain them as needed, sanitize bathroom facilities, along with sanitize and organize lawn furniture to adhere to social distancing. During this 30-minute time frame all members must leave the pool grounds to protect the safety of members and lifeguards.
The lounge chairs and tables around the pool are set up for social distancing and shall not be moved for any reason. Each membership is asked to use only one set of lounging chairs to allow other members use as well. SAA will provide a sanitizing solution for use as needed by the member(s). We encourage members to bring their own furniture, blankets, or towels to use while maintaining 6 feet social distancing.
To minimize COVID-19 transmission risks, staff members will not be providing pool toys including: diving toys, goggles, snorkels, balls, etc. Due to the inability to provide toys to swimmers we encourage you, the members, to bring your own and clearly labeled items to be identified as needed. (All lost and found items will be thrown away within 24 hours unless otherwise directed by the owner.)
Snacks sold at the shack will be limited to items that are in a closed container.
Checking in and Guests:
All members are required to fill out a membership application to assure the correct contact information of the members. Members will check in with a lifeguard before entering the facility to see who is entering the facility and provide a COVID-19 screening. Members must enter and exit the facility with the same group. Memberships are currently limited to two guests per membership. Guests will continue to pay $5, but they must provide contact information before entering the facility. (The contact information is necessary for health department records if requested.)
Members and their guests will be asked the following questions during the COVID-19 screening
Please be patient when checking members in, as it is a longer process.
On the pool grounds:
We are asking that you come to the pool with a mask and we recommend wearing this while on the deck at the pool. Swimmers are not allowed to wear any face coverings while in the water; this provides a higher risk of drowning.
Patrons of the same membership will be asked to stay together in their group while maintaining social distance from others while on the pool deck and in the water.
We can’t wait to see you on Friday. We ask for all members to be courteous of each other so we can all enjoy our pool time!
Thank you for your continued support and let’s have a happy, healthy summer,
SAA Pool Board
